This is great! A few bugs I'd like to point out...

- On Firefox it doesn't seem to stop scrolling with the arrow keys (I played this by opening the frame in another window).
- In the area with the final boss, the swinging axe sound still played even though there weren't any axes.

Otherwise I don't have too much to complain about. Nice work!

Butzbo responds:

Those are good points, I made a few quick updates fixing those details you mentioned. Thanks! :)

Awesome! Love the puzzle platforming elements.

I really liked this! Only minor note is that it felt hard to move the window at times.

I like it! This reminds me of Super Stacker 2, which I loved back in the day. One minor suggestion- consider adding a "preview" piece that hovers over the mouse cursor.

The game is pretty solid, but the game speed is very inconsistent. I suspect that the game speed is tied to the frame rate, might be worth using delta time to fix that issue.

Spider53 responds:

Yes, unfortunately back when I made this game I made it aaaaall with frame-based timers and stuff :/
I just posted this for fun and was too lazy to rewrite all that stuff. However, I haven't experienced any inconsistent speed issues, so I can't really comment on that.

This is great for a first game! Only thing I have to note gameplay-wise that hasn't been mentioned yet is the camera. It can be a little hard to see what's in front of you, since the player is positioned on the right side of the screen as you go to the right. It would be nice if the camera shifted a little to the right as you move right, or to the left as you move left, so that you can see more of what's in front of you.

Honestly, this isn't bad! The game controls pretty well, even if it is lacking polish in some areas other people have already noted.

rmkubik responds:

Thank you! Trying to get some of those areas polished before the jam deadline. :-)

Pretty fun, though I do have a couple of notes.
- There's no indication of how much ammo you have left, so it's hard to know when to reload
- The score counter doesn't seem to reset when you die. Probably worth fixing...

AramB responds:

Will do!

It's decent for a first game. Overall the biggest note I have that I haven't seen mentioned yet is with regards to the camera. The player character is positioned very low relative to the camera, so it can be hard to judge where to land. The game controls fairly well- I appreciate that the jump height is determined by how long you hold the button, which is something a lot of new developers seem to miss.

Hi! I make video games, I think.
